4. How much does it cost to cut down a tree?

This is the number one question we hear as a tree care company: tree trimming cost and tree removal cost. It is impossible to price a tree removal or pruning job over the phone or without viewing the tree. Every tree and location is different and the cost to remove or prune a tree is based on various factors.

Price is based on the size of the tree, the method of removal (whether by bucket truck or climbing), the condition, location, accessibility, and other safety factors such as electrical lines nearby or trees that may be over a house. We provide estimates free of charge so that we can evaluate each project on its own specific requirements. We strive to answer any questions you may have. Your written estimate will be itemized and specific as to the work you have requested.

5. How long does it take to get an estimate

Usually one to three days. We can often look at your work even if you are not home. If your estimate requires an "in person" meeting, we can schedule this as well. Most of our estimates are done in the late afternoon or on weekends?

6. How soon can my tree work be completed

After confirmation of your written estimate, you will be placed on our schedule on a first-come, first-served basis. However we strive to accommodate special circumstances to the best of our ability. The spring and summer are our busiest time of year so we do our best to complete jobs within 10 business days.

We offer 24-hour emergency/storm damage care. We will promptly respond to storm damage calls and offer assistance. We work to get trees and limbs off of your house as quickly as possible. Remember it is always advised to take pictures of storm damage before work is performed

7. Why should I prune my trees?

The main reasons for pruning ornamental and shade trees include safety, health, and aesthetics. In addition, proper tree pruning can be used to stimulate fruit production. Pruning for safety involves removing branches that could fall and cause injury or property damage. Pruning for health involves removing diseased or insect-infested wood, thinning the crown to increase airflow and reduce some pest problems. Pruning can best be used to encourage trees to develop strong structures and reduce the likelihood of damage during severe weather.

8. Why should I have my tree stumps ground? What is a stump grinder?

A stump grinder is a machine that has a cutter wheel specifically manufactured to grind a stump and its root flares into a mulch-like fiber. Typically they penetrate about 8" below grade. The most obvious benefits to stump grinding are:

  • Aesthetics- stumps are unsightly
  • Utilization- removing a stump will allow you to use the space again
  • Safety- no more tripping over the stump
  • Maintenance-you won't have to mow around it anymore

9. How long does tree removal/trimming services usually take?

It depends on the amount of work that needs to be completed at the job site. A single tree, depending on size, can take anywhere between 1-8 hours.

10. What should I expect when you arrive at my property?

Professional services provided by qualified tree technicians.

We provide our customers with a detailed explanation of services to be performed and ensure that clean-up is done before we leave the premises. We treat your home as though it were our very own.

11. How can I determine if I need to have a tree removed?

These are some of the visible signs that a tree may need to be removed:

  • Signs of decay on trunk or branches
  • If the tree has a history of falling branches
  • Signs of fungi attached to the trunk or branches
  • Signs of carpenter ant activity
  • Cracks or splits in the trunk or branches

12. Your Property?

Liability insurance covers workers against damages or injuries that might be caused while working on your property. However, it's not uncommon for small tree companies or even landscaping companies to not carry the proper insurance for this type of work. This can go very badly for you, if for example, a landscaping company removing a tree causes property damage; the claim can be rejected and the homeowner is left holding the bag. As a homeowner, your best defense is to ask for a copy of the insurance certificate to verify their insurance covers tree operations specifically.
